How to clean laminate floors

Laminate floors give the look of wood with easy maintenance, but they’re just as sensitive to excess moisture. A light clean with Universal Cleaner keeps them streak-free and looking sharp without damage.

What you need

✔ Universal Cleaner with Spray Mop
✔ Deep Clean Pad or Everyday Pad (for textured laminate)
✔ Dusting Pad (optional, for loose grit)

Step-by-step guide

Step 1
Start by dusting the floor with a Dusting Pad if needed to remove grit and debris.

Step 2
Fill the Spray Mop with Universal Cleaner solution.

Step 3
Use one trigger pull of solution for every 1–2 square metres of flooring.

Step 4
Choose your pad wisely: Deep Clean Pads deliver a deeper clean, but on textured laminate surfaces they can drag — in that case, switch to an Everyday Pad for smoother glide.

Step 5
Work backward across the room to avoid stepping on freshly cleaned sections.

Step 6
Keep moisture to a minimum and ensure the surface is almost dry as you finish each patch.

Pro tip

Frequent light cleans are safer for laminate than heavy soaking — less solution keeps the surface fresh and prevents swelling at the joins.

Safety first: Spot test to ensure compatibility with finishes. Never store the Spray Mop with a used or wet pad facing the floor, as this can leave blemishes.

Other notes

Place mats at entryways to catch dirt and grit before it scratches laminate.

Wipe spills immediately to avoid swelling or staining.
