Step-by-step guide

Step 1
Load towels into the washer—not overcrowded—so they can swirl freely.

Step 2
Run a hot or warm wash cycle using ½ cup white distilled vinegar instead of detergent (no softener) to strip away buildup and neutralise odours.

Step 3
Follow with a second wash using ½ cup baking soda to boost softness and freshness. (Optional)

Step 4
Wash again with Sensitive Laundry Liquid as usual—warm or cold depending on fabric.

Step 5
Dry towels thoroughly—line-dry in sunlight or tumble low with dryer balls to fluff fibres.

Pro tip

Toss a few drops of essential oil on dryer balls (lavender works a treat) for a spa-scented finish.

Safety first: Check towel care tags before using hot water. Don’t mix vinegar and detergent in the same cycle—use separate washes.

Other notes

Avoid fabric softeners — they coat fibres and reduce absorbency. Deep-clean every 1–2 months or whenever towels feel stiff or smell musty. For best results, keep your washing machine clean (see How to clean your washing machine guide).
