How to clean muddy foot and paw prints from carpet

Whether it’s kids, dogs or an ambitious houseplant escapee, muddy prints happen. But before you resign yourself to living with “earth-tone décor,” Koh’s Universal Cleaner has your back — and your floors. From rugs to tiles, it lifts mud without leaving residue, so you can get back to clean, calm surfaces in minutes.

What you need

✔ Universal Cleaner – cuts through dirt, mud and grime
✔ Atomiser – for even spray control
✔ General Cloth – for blotting and wiping carpet or rugs
✔ Spray Mop – for hard floors and tiles
✔ Warm (not hot) water – for rinsing if needed

Step-by-step guide (Carpet & rugs)

Step 1
Let wet mud dry first — trying to clean it while wet just spreads it.

Step 2
Once dry, vacuum or brush away any loose dirt.

Step 3
Spray Universal Cleaner lightly over the remaining marks.

Step 4
Blot (don’t rub) with your General Cloth to lift dirt from the fibres.

Step 5
Repeat if needed, then blot with a clean, damp section of the cloth to finish.

Step-by-step guide (Hard floors: tiles, vinyl, timber)

Step 1
Fill your Spray Mop with Universal Cleaner.

Step 2
Lightly mist the muddy area and glide your mop across the surface.

Step 3
For stubborn spots, let the cleaner sit for 1–2 minutes before mopping again.

Step 4
Step back and admire your mud-free floors.

Pro tip

• Let mud dry before tackling it — patience pays off.

• Always blot carpet stains; rubbing can damage fibres.

• Wipe pet paws at the door next time — future you will thank you.

Safety note: Always test on a small area of carpet first. Avoid soaking fabric surfaces — too much water can damage backing.
