How to clean coffee stains from clothes

Morning coffee is great for you — not so much for your shirt. Luckily, Universal Cleaner breaks down the tannins in coffee (yep, the same stain-makers as red wine), making them fade to grey and rinse away with ease.

What you need

✔ Universal Cleaner with Atomiser
✔ General Cloth
✔ Cold water
✔ Washing machine (optional)

Step-by-step guide

Step 1
Blot the coffee spill gently with a damp General Cloth — no rubbing, we’re lifting, not spreading.

Step 2
Spray Universal Cleaner directly onto the stain.

Step 3
Leave for 2–3 minutes until the stain dulls in colour.

Step 4
Blot with a damp General Cloth to lift out the loosened stain.

Step 5
Rinse thoroughly under cold water.

Step 6
Repeat if needed for stubborn or dried stains.

Step 7
Launder as usual.

Pro tip

Act fast — fresh stains are easier to tackle. Always use cold water, since hot water can set tannins permanently.

Safety first: Patch test on a hidden area first.

Other notes

Works best on fresh stains; older ones may need more than one treatment.

Repeat the spray + blot step before machine washing if stains linger.
