How to clean blood stains

Blood stains can be stubborn — proteins love to cling to fabric like they own the place. But with Koh Universal Cleaner and Stain Remover, you can break that bond and lift the stain cleanly away. The golden rule? Cold water only. Heat will lock the stain in faster than you can say “laundry day.”

What you need

✔ Universal Cleaner – breaks down protein-based stains
✔Atomiser – for even spray coverage
✔Stain Remover – lifts any residual marks
✔Foaming Spray Bottle - to dispense the Stain Remover
✔ General Cloth – for blotting and cleaning
✔ Cold water
✔ Washing machine (and Koh Laundry Liquid for the final clean)

Step-by-step guide

Step 1
Gently blot away any excess blood with a dry General Cloth.

Step 2
Spray the stained area liberally with Universal Cleaner.

Step 3
Leave for 2–3 minutes, then rinse thoroughly with cold water (never warm or hot).

Step 4
Spray the area again with Stain Remover and leave for 15 minutes to target any remaining protein residue.

Step 5
Machine wash with Laundry Liquid in cold water for a spotless finish.

Pro tip

• Act fast — fresh stains are much easier to remove.

• For dried stains, soak the fabric in cold water first, then follow the steps above.

• Always work from the back of the fabric outwards to avoid pushing the stain deeper in.

Safety first: Always spot test on a hidden area first, especially on coloured fabrics. Avoid hot water — it will set blood stains permanently. Do not mix Koh products with bleach or other cleaners.
