How to clean berry stains from clothes

Blueberries, raspberries, strawberries – delicious in smoothies, less delicious when they redecorate your white shirt. Berry stains are loaded with natural tannins and anthocyanins (that’s the pigment giving them their punchy colour), which love to cling to fibres. But Universal Cleaner can cut through them before they become permanent souvenirs.

What you need

✔ Universal Cleaner
✔ Atomiser
✔ General Cloth
✔ Cold water
✔ (Optional) Laundry Liquid for a final wash

Steps

Step 1
Rinse the stain under cold running water as soon as possible to flush out excess juice.

Step 2
Spray Universal Cleaner directly on the stain.

Step 3
Let it sit for 2–3 minutes to break down the berry pigments.

Step 4
Dab and gently rub with your General Cloth.

Step 5
Rinse with cold water, repeating if needed.

Step 6
Finish with a wash using Laundry Liquid.

Pro tips

• Tackle berry stains quickly—once they dry, they become stubborn.

• Always work from the back of the fabric outwards to push the stain out, not deeper in.

• Cold water only—hot water will “cook” the stain and make it set.

Safety first: Patch-test delicate fabrics.

Other notes

• Stains on whites may need a second round for a total KO.

• For mixed berry smoothies, expect multiple pigments—be patient.

• Best avoided: tossing berry-stained clothes into a hot wash straight away—it will lock in the mark.
