How to clean BBQ grills and plates

Summer’s great until the BBQ starts looking more “charred relic” than “culinary hero.” Luckily, a little Koh magic brings those grills and plates back to glory — no elbow grease (or smoke signals) required.

What you need

✔ Kitchen Grease & Oil Cleaner
✔ Foaming Spray Bottle
✔ Diamond Sponge
✔ General Cloth
✔ Warm water for rinsing

Step-by-step guide

Step 1
Spray generously over the grills and plates.

Step 2
Let the foam sit for 2–3 minutes to break down built-up grease and burnt-on grime.

Step 3
Work the surface using your Diamond Sponge, scrubbing gently to lift residue.

Step 4
Rinse thoroughly with warm water and dry with the clean side of your General Cloth.

Pro tip

For a next-level clean, preheat the BBQ for a couple of minutes before spraying (then let it cool slightly) — the heat helps loosen stubborn grease faster.

Safety first: Make sure your BBQ is unplugged (if electric).

Other notes

You can also use Universal Cleaner if you prefer a no-rinse spray-and-wipe approach.

Avoid using metal scourers — the Diamond Sponge gives you all the grit without the scratch.
